Kambari of Nigeria

450,000 speakers - A cluster including three related language groups adjacent to each other near the western border of Nigeria: the Agwara, Auna and the Salka. There are 125,000 to 150,000 speakers in each group. A segment of the population practices traditional religion, believing that curses, witchcraft and magic are the basis for everything that goes on in their lives. Christianity is practiced by some, with a number of denominations and Bible schools located in several of the towns. A major world religion is also prevalent in the Kambari area.

  • Continue praying that the Visa stickler can be overcome so the two translators can meet with the Starks in Dallas to finish off the translation. Pray that “our God and Father Himself and our Lord Jesus will clear the way” for the translators and project advisors to come together.

  • Though this problem has curtailed things, praise God the teams, both the Starks in Dallas and the translation teams in Nigeria are accomplishing much even while they wait on Him.
