Mike Toupin

Chief Advancement Officer

Mike has served in Bible translation for over 30 years — initially as a Bible translator and project coordinator with the Paasaal people in Ghana, one of Seed Company’s first 10 projects. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Christian International University, a master’s degree in human resource leadership from Azusa Pacific University and a doctorate in leadership with a focus on nonprofit resource development from Andrews University.

Shawn Ring

Shawn Ring

Chief Information Officer

Shawn joined Seed Company in his present position in February 2016. Before that, he served as executive pastor for Gateway Church in Dallas, leading teams in technology-based ministries. Previously, Shawn served as president and CTO of Assemble Communications, a global group of communications companies partnering with indigenous Christians. In 1996, Shawn co-founded Integrity Online, which grew to become America’s largest filtered internet service provider.

Lori Miller

Chief Administrative Officer

Lori came to Seed Company in 2010 as the coordinator for People and Organizational Development (P/OD). She was named manager of P/OD in 2011. In 2013, she became the director of field programs for Anglophone West Africa. In 2015, Lori was named chief administrative officer. Previously, she served as the human resources manager for an IT company for several years before moving to Israel, where she was an assistant director of administration and operations manager for an international nonprofit organization based in Jerusalem. Lori lives in Bedford, Texas. 

Bill McCoy

Chief Field Officer

Bill joined Seed Company in 2010 as the director of prayer. He moved to Field Operations in 2012 to lead the developing Field Performance and Reporting team, which serves the entire organization. Before joining Seed Company, Bill served for several years as the director of discipleship in a midsize church in Arlington, Texas, after nearly a decade in public relations and marketing. Bill and his wife, Carol, have three young sons and live in Arlington.

Samuel E. Chiang

PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Samuel is president and chief executive officer of Seed Company. Before coming to Seed Company, Samuel served as executive director of the International Orality Network, was COO of Trans World Radio and served as East Asia area director with Partners International. He has served on Seed Company’s board of directors since 2011. Born in Taiwan, Samuel grew up and worked in Canada (Ernst & Young). He graduated from the University of Toronto and was ordained at People’s Church, Toronto. He is also a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, where he served on staff. Samuel has wide-ranging experience with the global Church, having traveled to over 80 countries, ministering in almost 40. He has written on China, Asia and orality, and published extensively. Samuel and his wife, Robbi, have three adult children.

Larry Jones

Senior Vice President of Bible Translation

Larry served as senior vice president for field programs of Seed Company from 2008 to October 2011, when he began serving in his current position. Larry was vice president for Asia operations for SIL International until 2008. He is currently on the board of Mission Aviation Fellowship. Larry received a Bachelor of Arts in classical Greek from Brown University, a Master of Arts in linguistics and has a doctorate in humanities with concentration in linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington. Larry and his wife, Linda, live in Arlington, Texas. They have three adult children.

J.R. Thompson

Chief Financial Officer

J.R. joined Seed Company in 2016, bringing a combination of ministry and corporate backgrounds to his role. He holds extensive experience with Big Four, Fortune 1000 and privately held entities, and he served as an associate pastor at West Ridge Christian Community Church in Pittsburgh. J.R.’s financial leadership in the domestic and international arenas has focused on internal controls, process improvement, acquisition and treasury management. During his tenure with Harsco Corporation, J.R. held internal audit, regional finance manager and business unit controller roles. He is a licensed CPA and graduate of Robert Morris University.
